Kinesiotaping – an Effective Therapy Method

How does taping work?

Taping extends the work of a physiotherapist and masseur. If a massage lasts for 1 hour, the effect of lymphatic drainage with tapes will last for 4-5 days.

In the application area, blood and lymph flow improve, and pressure in subcutaneous tissues decreases. Meanwhile, lymphatic drainage combats various discomforts.

The effects of taping on the body include:

  • Reducing and often eliminating pain
  • Activating metabolic processes
  • Restoring functional muscle activity
  • Improving blood and lymph circulation at the application site
  • Exhibiting anti-edema and analgesic effects
  • Fixating muscles, ligaments, and taped joints
  • Physiologically improving poor posture
  • Reducing fat tissue and minimizing cellulite During taping, receptors responsible for muscle tension and relaxation are influenced.

Currently, kinesiotaping has extensive applications in rehabilitation, cosmetology, is recommended for pregnant women, athletes, children, and the elderly.

However, this procedure also has contraindications:

  • Skin diseases, inflammatory conditions
  • Severe cardiovascular diseases
  • Severe kidney diseases
  • High-stage diabetes
  • Deep vein thrombosis of the lower limbs
  • Individual intolerance

The type of application and method of use determine the specific problem that can be addressed.

Applications are recommended to be worn for 3-5 days, and the procedure should be repeated 5-7 times. The best results can be achieved by combining taping with massage.
